On February 21-22, 2025, the First Student Surgery Olympiad named after Academician V.V. Vakhidov was held at the Tashkent Medical Academy.
It was attended by a total of 12 teams consisting of 10 participants, undergraduate students from surgical departments from TМA and a number of other higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In particular, tasks such as tying surgical knots, anatomy, craniotomy, plastic surgery, abdominal surgery, desmurgy, Achilles tendon suture, and knowledge of surgical instruments were completed at the Olympiad. In the intense Olympiad, which lasted 2 days, the team of the Department of Traumatology, Orthopedics, FS and Neurosurgery No. 2 of 2nd Treatment faculty of TMA “Surgitas” won the team competition.
Among those who made a great contribution to the training of the department’s team, it is worth noting the head of the Department, Doctor of Medicine I.E. Khujanazarov, associate professors A.A. Qosimov and T.M. Akhmediev, the educational work supervisor Boboev B.A. and assistant Amonov A.A.
