In order to form the national team of the Republic of Uzbekistan to participate in the final stage of the M.I. Perelman International Olympiad, Tashkent State Medical University hosted an internal qualification stage based on surgical skills.
The selection process is organized on the basis of the order of the rector of Tashkent State Medical University dated December 15, 2025 No. 2222 (internal selection of the university).


The qualifying round lasted 3 days and took place from January 15 to January 17, 2026. More than 250 students from 125 teams and about 60 teachers took part in the qualifying Olympiad.
This qualifying Olympiad was organized by 24 departments of surgical profile, the Department of organization of research activities of gifted students, as well as the youth Academy.


In particular, tasks such as surgical nodulation, knowledge of anatomy, craniotomy, plastic surgery, abdominal surgery, desmurgy, Achilles tendon suture, and knowledge of surgical instruments were completed at the Olympiad. At the Olympiad, which lasted 3 days, the Surgitas team of the Department of Traumatology, Orthopedics, FS and Neurosurgery No. 2 of TSMU took honorary places among the prize-winners in 5 nominations.
Among those who made a great contribution to the preparation of the team, it is worth noting the head of the department, I.E. Khujanazarov, associate professors A.A. Kasymov and T.M. Akhmediev, responsible for academic work B.A. Boboev, and assistant A.A. Amonov.
